Abstract
Communicative Language Teaching approach got importance thanks to the
development of four skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) equally.
Likewise, Communicative strategies develop English at a communicative and
functional level which improve the student’s performance in English as a second
language.
The purpose of this investigation was to determine the influence of
communicative strategies in the academic performance in the English language
course of fifth-year secondary school students of the educational institution N°
88320 San Bartolo – Santa, for which the following problem was formulated:
How do the communicative strategies influence in the academic performance of
English language of fifth-year secondary school students of the educational
institution N ° 88320 San Bartolo - Santa?
The present research used the quantitative approach, an explanatory scope
and a quasi-experimental design, Data was collected through a pre-test and
post-test; and observation guides from 65 students who were in the fifth grade
of secondary school. From the statistical treatment, we could infer that the
communicative strategies caused a significant effect in the academic
performance in the English language course in fifth-year secondary school
students of the educational institution N° 88320 San Bartolo with 2,296 of
positive, strong variance, and a significance value lower than 0,05.
