dc.description.abstractThe present thesis report had an intention to demonstrate the influence of the Didactic Unit and lesson plans based on the Cooperative Learning approach to develop speaking, listening, reading and writing skills and its influence in the academic performance at 2nd grade students of secondary school “I.E Emblemática San Pedro” Miramar Bajo-Chimbote 2018. The researched population was composed by 38 students; 20 students of 2nd grade, section “A” for the experimental group and 18 students of 2nd grade, section “B” for the control group. The applied methodology for this research was: in relation to the approach, Quantitative; and in relation to the scope, Explanatory with a quasi-experimental design. The effectiveness of the Cooperative Learning Approach was demonstrated by the posttest qualifications in our experimental group, who obtained a qualification of 7 points in the pre-test, however they increase significantly their academic performance after the application of the didactic unit and lesson plans based and the CLA, obtaining a qualification of 17 points in the post-test. So, the use of the Cooperative Learning Approach to teach English have a positive effectiveness and is an excellent option to improve the students’ skills and academic performance.es_PE
